2. rather
3. preferred
prefer更喜欢,它的用法如下:prefer to do sth;更喜欢某事prefer doing sth;更喜欢做某事prefer sth to sth;比起后者...
.prefer doing to doing;prefer to do rather than do sth宁愿做某事而不愿做某事。

6. slow
原文:He is a slow student. He is slow of understanding. He is so slow that I have to explain everything several times.
1. Be slow to promise but quick to practice.
2. Business was rather slow last month.
3. He is slow at speech with women yet. Slow and steady wins the race译成“慢而稳者胜”。 The book is rather slow. You'd better go slow in reach-ing a conclusion.
7. ratherthan
He is an explorer rather than a sailor.
Nobody but two students is in the classroom.
Everybody except you is down on me.
